Microplastic transport in the environment

It is by now well established that microplastic particles can contaminate pretty much all compartments of our environment. The transport mechanisms between them, however, are largely unknown.

Here we use Lattice-Boltzmann simulations of bursting bubbles and impacting raindrops to understand specifically the transport of microplastic from oceans to the atmosphere.
